The beehive 135A RF Helmholtz Coil generates a controlled, well-defined magnetic field between its coils.  This magnetic field can be used to calibrate magnetic field probes, or to generate a controlled field for testing other devices.

The beehive 135A RF Helmholtz Coil is optimized for high-frequency performance, and is usable up to 30 MHz.

The beehive 135A RF Helmholtz Coil includes fixturing to precisely hold the Beehive Electronics 100A, 100B, and 100C EMC probes to that the user may measure the sensitivity of the probes and calculate their calibration factors.  Mounting holes are provided to allow the user to fixture other devices inside the Helmholtz coil.

• Finding sources of EMC emissions problems.
• Injecting fields into circuits to identify those which are EMC-susceptible.
• Noninvasive probing of RF circuits. The probes can be used to measure the signals present on an operational PC board. For example, using a preamplifier, the probes can measure the characteristics of an oscillator, such as frequency, side bands, and phase noise.
